At Darling Sun Doula, I offer calm, supportive care through birth and postpartum. My approach is rooted in connection, trust, and meeting each family where they are so you can feel supported, understood, and a little more at ease during this season.

Doula [doo-lah] . noun . A reassuring presence who will listen and support you. A doula will help you make choices that are best for you and your baby. They will remind you why you made those decisions during times of doubt and guide you back to your inner strength.

Birth Support

“Lydia was an incredibly helpful and kind doula. We had two prenatal visits during which she really took the time to understand my needs. We talked about my “dream” labour and delivery, and she showed me different massage techniques so I could discover which ones I felt most comfortable with.

When I started labouring, it was easy to reach out to her, and she arrived at the hospital right away. When the midwife said I wasn’t ready to be admitted to the labour and delivery room yet, she encouraged me, and we went for walks and did exercises to help the baby move down. Lydia also provided comforting massages during my contractions and guided me through breathing exercises, which helped my labour progress more consistently.

Her calm presence, care, and gentle reminders to breathe were incredibly supportive and helped me have a beautiful birth. She also documented a detailed birth timeline, allowing us to remember and cherish all the lovely moments of the experience. I am so grateful to have had Lydia as my doula, and I will happily recommend her to friends and family.”

Postpartum Support

“We hired Lydia as our postpartum doula support. She is extremely kind and caring and was quick to jump in and do any little task she saw needed. She would help me prepare goals for what I was hoping to accomplish each visit whether that was tackling some chores around the house, getting my toddler outside so I can have some time with my newborn, or tackling both kids while I enjoyed a hot shower. Lydia always left us with each of our cups a little fuller and our house a little cleaner. She also has a great outlook on life and an even better sense of humour, can’t recommend her enough!”

Postpartum Support

The Petals

These sessions are offered to complement your package, providing extra hands-on support and guidance during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Prenatal visit – $35 for a 1-hour session
Postpartum visit – $35/hour (minimum 3 hours per visit)

*All postpartum hours must be completed 6 months after their purchase date.

Complimentary one hour in-person or virtual meet and greet.

Prenatal support includes 3 in-home visits to check in, share resources, answer questions, explore your birth preferences, practice labour comfort measures and tools, and talk through your early postpartum plan.

You’ll also have unlimited 24/7 text support, giving you space to ask questions, check in, or reach out for reassurance whenever you need it.

From 37 weeks onwards, you’ll have on-call support so I’m ready to join you when labour begins and support you through your baby’s arrival.

On your birth day, I’ll support you with comfort measures, partner support, and help understanding your options so you feel confident and heard in your decisions. This includes up to 4 hours of immediate postpartum support, as well as access to my doula bag of tools.

Includes 18 hours of postpartum support, offered in minimum 3-hour sessions so you can receive steady, flexible care in a way that works for you. Your postpartum support can include feeding guidance and care (breast/chest, bottle, pumping, or formula), as well as gentle help with pets and support for siblings as they adjust to your growing family.

*Please note that all postpartum support hours must be used within the first 6 months following your baby’s birth.

Includes a 1-hour postpartum visit to be completed within the first month after birth. This is a dedicated space to receive your birth timeline, any photos taken, and to gently reflect on and debrief your birth experience with emotional support.
