My Approach to Care
When you picture your birth space, what kind of support helps you feel most safe, seen, and held?

Hello, I’m Lydia (she/her) – the doula behind Darling Sun Doula.
I believe that birth and early parenthood are sacred, transformative seasons that deserve to be met with care, compassion, and calm support. My role is to walk beside you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering guidance, comfort, and encouragement so you feel seen, held, and empowered every step of the way.
As a doula, I bring a grounded, nurturing presence to the families I serve. Whether it’s creating space for you to breathe through a contraction, helping you find your rhythm in postpartum recovery, or simply listening with an open heart, my goal is always the same; to remind you that you are capable, powerful, and never alone.
Darling Sun Doula was born from a desire to help families feel supported through one of life’s biggest transitions. Every birth, every story, every family is unique, and your care should reflect that. Together, we’ll create a calm and positive experience rooted in your values, your intuition, and your light.
A Peek Into My World
As you read this, can you imagine yourself feeling comfortable, supported, and truly at ease with me by your side?
When I am not supporting families, you’ll usually find me at home with my crew; my husband, our sweet boy, two dogs, and three cats (yes, it’s a full house and I wouldn’t have it any other way).
I was born in England, so you might catch my slightly silly accent slipping through here and there. It tends to come out a little stronger when I’m excited or talking about something I love, which, in this work, is often.
In my quieter moments, I’m almost always creating something. I love to crochet and craft, curl up with a good book, or pick up my guitar or ukulele for a little sing-along. And at the end of the day, I’m very much a homebody at heart, give me a cozy blanket, a familiar movie, or an episode of The Office, and I’m perfectly content.
This slower, cozy way of being is something I carry into my work, too. I believe in creating spaces where you feel safe, supported, and able to settle into your own rhythm, because you deserve care that feels just as gentle and grounding as home.
